Fukui Bouyourou Aoyama
Experience the unparalleled taste of the crabs favoured by the Imperial Family
Echizen crabs from Mikuni Bay in Fukui Prefecture are especially prized among all snow crabs, and have long been the choice of the Japanese Imperial Household. Bouyourou was established in 1812 as a shipping warehouse, before being converted into a ryokan and restaurant which soon became famous for serving Echizen crabs of phenomenal quality. Now with a branch in Aoyama, Tokyo diners can enjoy outstanding seafood in the heart of the metropolis.
In the tank at the entrance to the restaurant, the Echizen crabs sent over directly from the Fukui branch await your order. Choose from a medley of ways to eat them—boiled or grilled, or be more adventurous and try your crab as sashimi, sukiyaki, shabu-shabu, and so on. There are also many other delights from the Japan Sea such as Alaskan pink shrimp, rosy seabass, abalone, and much more.
