Ginza Okuda
Watch the Four Seasons Dancing Across Your Table
In the basement of the building home to Ginza Kojyu is Ginza Okada, a different restaurant run by the same man. Owner Mr Okada comes and goes between the two, managing them and transmitting as he does his profound knowledge and deep love of Japanese cuisine to both.
The allure of Ginza Okada is its pared down aesthetic, doing away with excess so as to put raw ingredients to their best use. Anyone who samples the sumibi-yaki (charcoal grilled seasonal ingredients) that is the restaurant’s speciality, will understand immediately the owner’s determination. The magnificent taste of the soup dishes in small bowls, which many consider the apex of Japanese cuisine, are not to be missed either.
