SAMURAI STORY 3 -YAMAGATA（3D2N)
Experience the genuine samurai spirit from a charismatic Iaido master and a Zen Monk of Sacred Mt. Haguro.
This tour offers a special experience where you can learn the spirit of the Samurai and Zen, which have been passed down to the present day, through an intensive and disciplined journey with a charismatic Iaido master and a Shugendo monk of sacred Mt. Haguro in Yamagata, the birthplace of Iaido. This journey through Yamagata also offers a unique culinary and accommodation experience.
Schedule
Day 1 （-,-,D) 9:00a.m. This tour starts from Haneda Airport - Fly to Yamagata. (1hour flight) Meet a guide at Yamagata Airport and enjoy a brief Tsuruoka tour with lunch. Accommodations at Shukubo- Polgrim's lodge at the foot of holy Mt. Haguro (2nights/ Japanese tatami room / communal bath and toilet/ Mountain monk style breakfast and dinner.
Day 2 （B,-,D) 7:00a.m. Participate in a Shugendo prayer Mountain Monk experience, walk with a real Yamabushi (climb the 2446 stone stais up to the shrine) Zen meditation
Day 3 （B,-,D) 9:00a.m. Visit Chido Museum - founded by a descendant of the samurai clan
12:00p.m. Samurai Silk factory Accommodations at Suiden Terrasse (designed by Ban Shigeru, in the midst of rice paddies)
Day 4 （B,L,-) 10:00a.m. visit Iiai Shrine
11:00a.m. Samurai Sword training (5-hour intensive session,)
5:00p.m. Transfer to Yamagata station and bullet train ride to Tokyo.
*The tour disbands at Tokyo station. Additional arrangement of train & hotel for the next destination can be arranged for an extra charge
