World-renowned Taiko artist Eva Kestner invites you into the world of the Japanese heartbeat. Having studied classical Taiko, Otsuzumi, and Kotsuzumi, as well as Japanese folk dance and song, Eva is a globally recognized educator. Her image graces the cover of a music textbook by HarperCollins—one of the world's "Big Five" publishers—and her compositions have been adopted in over 160 countries as part of the Cambridge International Curriculum. 

In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn the spirit and technique of Taiko directly from Eva, who is fully bilingual in English and Japanese. This is more than just a tourist activity; it is a cultural experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Eva Kestner

Taiko drummer, artist, and educator. Born in Tokyo. Began professional career after graduating from Cornell University. Established a unique style that integrates traditional Taiko with song, Koto, dance, and Western music. Contributes to global music education, with her work adopted by the Cambridge International Curriculum in 2024. Plans to establish her own Taiko academy in central Tokyo in 2025.
