Gion Maruyama
Feel the quintessence of Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine and the chef’s playful sprit at a two-Michelin-star restaurant
The entrance to Gion Maruyama is at the end of a cobbled path, where you will find a traditional Kyoto sukiya-style building. The first floor offers counter seating, and the counter is created with a single piece of hinoki (cypress) wood. The dining rooms on the second floor have a beautiful decor of Kyoto lacquer on the sliding doors and ceilings. Mr. Yoshio Maruyama, the owner chef creates amazing dishes with his original playful twist. "The essence of cuisine is flavor, but please also enjoy every other details such as the light, sound and aroma", says the owner chef. Let all your five senses feel the quintessence of Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine.
